Kubota Clutch repair L2800 Installing the Clutch Disc & Pressure Plate
I'm pretty handy but didn't have a clue how to do a proper alignment on my Kubota. Man you are Awesome Dave! I appreciate your sharing.
7 years old and just as relevant in 2024 to a new tractor owner, thanks Dave
I love how easy you make it to understand. This video confirmed my understanding of the ins and outs of a hydraulic system without any doubts. It's great that you didn't complicate things by bringing the spool valves into the lesson, yet touched on it perfectly.
My Branson top link is like a visit to the gym..........manual! Bummer!!!!! BUT darn informative video. I bought the tractor 2 years ago and my driveway looks worst because I don't know diddly about my scraper. This video sure as honey in the pot helps!!!
Dave, I used water hose parts (2 way splitter, barbed fittings, etc) and it worked well, BUT I thought I could get away without the gauge! Boy was I wrong. BOTH my tires came off the bead WITH RV ANTIFREEZE LEAKING OUT. Dude, that was stressful! I thought I was going to lose a bunch on the ground! I put a ratchet strap on quickly, and aired it up, got it back on by some miracle, and was able to finish without much loss. BUT the gauge would have helped me keep an eye on the pressure, and keep SOME pressure in the tire, like 5 psi or so, and that would have helped keep the tire on the rim. Funny, when I did let all the air out initially, and it stayed on the rim, but once I started filling it with fluid and it got some weight in it, the tire then sagged and popped off the rim. I think if I had kept *some* pressure in it, like 5psi or so MINIMUM, then, it might have stayed on. Shoulda listened the first time to my buddy Dave 🙂
for sure my son " who is a certified kubota tech" has had tires come off the bead and half off the rim. lost all the fluid! i learned from his mistake. the device they use dont have a gauge so once the tire pressure was down below 5psi bam! off the rim it came. 5psi would likely be good most likely. I tried to keep mine up as high as I could to insure my bead stayed intact. its a learning curve for sure. glad you were fast with the rachet strap! lol
How does it work if the switch wires cut. There is no P2 to attach to T3?
Not sure I’m understanding your question.
@@daveknowshow On my lift I have P1 to the black. T8 goes to red wire on the reverse switch. T2&T4 to the orange wire. T5 to the white wire neutral. Motor only goes in one direction.? The on/off switch on the motor was deleted which is P1& P2.
Incredible video. So hard to find this info. Thank you so much.
Awesome , thank you an hope your tractoring days are filled with fun.
I am a displaced Yankee out of New Jersey that ended up in Kentucky for reasons I won’t go into. Eventually developed an interest in guns, land, and now have a tractor and skid steer. Your videos are informational, inspirational, and have restored my hope in the American spirit.😃
Love hearing these encouraging words! We all need affirmation from time to time.
Neil Messick is a gem. Their whole family and operation is world class.👍
100% agree
Thanks Dave...

I'm currently doing this mod to my old JD 513 Bush Hog to make it fit a HF quick hitch. (got the aftermarket hook) I've got the lower pivot bushings in they work perfect. The upper parts are very similar to the one in this video. Would you still do the upper conversion this way, which makes it work like a modern bush hog pivot, or would you just put chains on it and call it a day? I won't know how well the pivot works until I'm completely done so just thinking about plan B just in case the pivot doesn't work out.
Chains are ok but cause a floppy issue that making hooking up a challenge at times. It’s doable but not perfect. My finish mower mod has chains you can look at that video here on my channel. Thanks for the comment!
Yes thanks. Still tinkering with it work has kept me from diving back in. It did finally occur to me yesterday how that system worked to keep the back pivot portion "up" and the front one to hook to "down." Pretty genius. It should all work perfect if I just weld a stop piece on the back pivot so it can't roll all the way down under the other one and get stuck. Then it should be pretty much exactly like a modern one. Really, thanks for this ancient video. No one other than you has ever actually shown a way to convert it properly.
This was an incredibly informative video. Not a minute wasted.
I have to admit I love hearing this. I believe this is by far my most popular video.
Lookie there at that Redbone!
Thanks he’s a mess laying here beside me right now. Thinks he owns the place.
What brand are the fittings?
I don’t remember actually. Been a while since this video
Looking for a how-to video. This video is definitely not a how-to video.
Sorry you wasted your time

Excellent story Dave. I agree with the one fella go to local library. They usually do have back issues. Did research that way.
Planning on a trip to the main library downtown Richmond soon.
Great video Dave. Flow rate of the hydraulic pump is one of the things people don't seem to fully understand. I see so many people post about sloppy/loose hydraulic cylinders. Most of them don't admit that they were working the hydraulics at low RPM leading up to the issue or that they typically operate hydraulics at low RPM. They also forget that some of their hydraulic flow is sucked up by the power steering. What ends up happening is they get air in their hydraulic lines and need to crack a fitting or two to purge it quickly rather than running high RPM for a long period to let the hydraulic system self purge.
So true!
Good morning Dave. I haven’t played pool in so many years, it would be like starting completely over for me. It would be embarrassing.
Exactly how I feel. I played tonight in a local tournament did ok finished in the top 5. Should have done better missed a few key shots. Got a couple bad rolls.
Very good listen Dave😉👍 enjoyed it, and like mentioned earlier if you can get close on the date the paper was put out you may be able to get copies from a library👍🙏
Yeah the library is on my list. Hopefully in the next few weeks.
Great story Dave,I guess Dave does know how 😊😊😊
lol I try, fail often but I still keep trying.
Dave, I've watched most of your videos, i can honestly say i enjoyed this one the most. I would like to see more like it. I was an old pool shooter myself, so i can relate, or maybe just reminiscing about old times. Looking forward to the next one, thanks for sharing.
Thanks , pool halls were different back in my day. The stories I could tell, smh! Lol
Stop by your public library and ask the librarian if they have the newspaper either in scanned files or microfiche. It may cost a couple of bucks to get copies. I’ve done it successfully a few times.
Great idea!!!
And Now The Rest of the Story. Dave so good to see and hear from you. I've been busy building andd working on my new metal building. I'll eventually get a video out but no big thrill video. I've been getting things done on the land. It's been super hot lately and we need some rain. Hope you're doing okay. Take it easy my brother. Don 👍🏽🤠 05/27/24
Hey Don, I know your having fun with all them projects. Look forward to seeing the new building when it’s done.
sounds like someone is missing their younger self. lol. i know, because im doing the same thing. i miss the days when i worked on the carnival. the women use to throw their pannies at me. now that im old. they throw turds at me. lmao.
lol yes I’m missing my youthful self!
That is a GREAT story. Thanks for telling it.
Appreciate your time, life in the pool halls were an adventure for sure.
Knows his shit....
lol I try!
Thank you
Thank you for dropping by.
I have a MF 255 where can I get a hydraulic cylinder for my box blade? Great video, thank you
Look up top n tilt on google.
Nice work!!!
Thanks, love having the backhoe still use it a lot.
[thank, you for youre helpful video.👍 i, just bought a case 530 diesel Backhoe]👍
Oh man that case is a nice machine. You will enjoy it.
Ive drug box blades around quite abit, but after watching this video, and leveling out my box, I feel like Im WAY more effective and efficient. Thanks Dave!!
Most definitely you will be light years ahead of the average user. Practice makes perfection but just knowing where to start is a big advantage.
I’d like to know where you get the adapter that attaches to the valve stem… great videos…😊
Any tractor supply store has them.
Super clear and very helpful! Thank you so much Dave, and one of the best explanations of using box blade controls! Awesome!
This is what us creators love to hear! Thank you! Peace love and respect from Virginia to you!
I knew id use it Somewhere, one day and this is somewhere one day. My new favorite quote!
lol haha I know right! I have a lot of that sort of stuff around here. Just like my Dad I can’t through away anything.
Well done Dave!
Thank you. A very good explanation. I just got a finish mower and this gives me a lot of info I needed.
No one sells gravel in 5 gal buckets. This test would be lot better if you made a yard box and see how many loader bucket it takes to fill box, level vs rounded, thats what I want to know.......
I know it’s complicated, but move on. Too slow for me,,
Thanks for the advice
Sure do miss seeing all your videos, hope you both are alright.
Thanks, I been sick fluid on my right lung. Getting better now.
Thanks Dave!!
Thank you for stopping by.
can you remove just the front drive shaft connection to get the oil pan off? or do you need to remove the rear part of the drive shaft and casing first? before the front?
Once the front is removed the entire shaft falls out.
Its just those 3 pins? Does the drive shaft need to be dropped in order to remove the oil pan?
Yes drop it to get the oil pan off. Yes three pins
@@daveknowshow Very good, thank you sir!
Thanks Dave... Just ran across your video My New Holland T 1530 was hard to get out of four-wheel drive raised the front wheels pushed it right out 4wheel drive no problem... thanks again..
Awesome good to know it works on most all brands.
i dont have a bucket and was struggling to understand how to do the rear remotes this video gives me the information i need thanks
Glad it helped
Thanks for this great video. I don't fully understand though... I just purchased a 2022 Kubota B2601 and the power beyond port goes directly to the tank. I watched some videos of how to add rear remotes and they just take that line off and utilize it for rear remote spools. But that doesn't seem to line up with this video that always shows the PB going to the 3 point. In my head somehow the power beyond has to have pressure against it otherwise it would just relieve all the pressure in the system going straight to the tank, right? I mean I know that seems right to me but somehow it can't be? Thanks for your help!
Yes it bypasses straight to tank until you move the three point lever. Then the pressure increases due to load. Once three point is in position and is satisfied via the feedback rod the valve reverts back to dumping to tank. In other words the three point control valve dumps to tank and is the last valve in the circuit. Also when no spool valve is calling for fluid power the system shows very low to no pressure.pressure is only present when fluid is place into a path of resistance. As in into a hydraulic cylinder. I hope this helps
@@daveknowshow Thanks for your explanation! That definitely helps. I also learned that when folks called the line on my tractor that goes from loader valve PB port to the 'tank' it is actually going to the 3 point first, as you're saying. That helped clear things up for me, too. It is a little hard to understand how there is little to no pressure in the system normally, but when something calls for fluid somehow pressure appears. Sounds like magic to me lol. Thanks again!
Thank you for the video brother! I just bought a Kubota L4060, my first ever tractor, and I’m waiting for delivery any day now. One of my jobs is going to be fixing and maintaining our private gravel road and my neighbors and my driveways. I opted to spend the extra on the factory top and tilt kilt to make those tasks easier. I also got a grading scraper to accompany my box blade but will be starting off with the box blade because the road is in such poor shape and a lot of gravel has made its way down to the bottom of the hill. The tips you have given in this video are really going to help me out to save time and have a better looking end result. God bless you and yours!
Thank you for the kind words you can’t imagine how much I appreciate them. There are a few videos on this channel that show lots of good stuff with rear implements. I love my roadblade and boxblade.
New tractor owner here. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge, insight and experience. It so helpful to us newbies.
I love hearing this. Sometimes us creators wonder why we even do it. Your words help justify why we do it. Sharing is caring my friend
Thank you sir!
Hope it helps
Thank you for the info.... I have an LS 122 with only six hours brand new..happend several times that I couldn't get it into 4 WD or get it out. Manual say tractor must be at full stop to get it in and out. I did, and it still happened a few times. And there are days when it shifts smoothly.
This should solve all those problems. Glad you came by the video. Thanks for the kind words and sharing the videos to others who may benefit from it.
